ChiRedbirdfan - excellent work on finding this information. Your note to Interim AD Beggs is spot on - well written. Thanks for all of the work you are doing.
I have a novel idea - Hire a Special Teams Coach that knows what Special Teams mean. Just do not hire whoever and deem them Special Teams - not the answer. Every high school in B-N has better special teams. This should not be the thorn it is.
Agree with a lot of the comments. I will add - Yes, Josh Robinson has a couple of nice runs and scored from short yardage, but after several attempts. I hate to bring this up - special teams - UGH. We missed the first extra point, fumbled a punt, and several of the long snaps were not very...
Excellent News for Dr. Zenger!!! Wonderful to have him back in Bloomington-Normal!!! He was a Fantastic AD at ISU!!! I am sure he will be wonderful at IWU.
Looking at the passing stats - Rubley average completion 5.2 yds, Makuh average 7.2 yds, and Rittenhouse average 9.5 yds. I like QBs who throw downfield more - which helps to open up everything else.
SLU's goal is to move to the Big East - and have the money to do it. They just need to improve the basketball program, which they thought they were doing with Travis Ford, who was at $2.4 million a year.
I have heard the PG Larry is staying at Indy State - rumors have SLU giving Schertz $2 million in NIL money to use. Supposedly 4 players transferring to SLU - Avila is still a question mark due to large offers on the table, needs to make a decision. Time will tell, what really happens.
SLU already said there is announcement tomorrow (Saturday) with a press conference on Monday. Schertz's agent signed that the agreement with SLU - Before the NIT even started. It included a $4 million buyout - to keep other schools away or pay dearly. It worked on Louisville.
Another important point - Zelle and Venmo and the like - are Outside of the Banking system - thus all of those safeguards and regulations, do not apply. Use at your own risk - thus, your plan holds water.
That is one way to snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory......Avila had three attempts from 3, all early in each possession. Surprised me - because in their other NIT games - down the stretch, worked the ball for a lot of back-cuts or cleared the lane for a drive to the hoop.
Yes, received a call today. I am thankful they are taking the time to call each season ticket holder. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo.
Also on the positive side - back to not charging extra for parking. Hooray, Hooray. Your WSF donation will cover it as before COVID.
Now ready for a little...
Watching the NIT Championship game - Fran Fraschilla, what a Big East snob, and talking down to Indiana State and the Valley. Then in the last 3 minutes of the first half - with Indiana State finishing the half on a 13-3 run - virtually silent. Typical East Coast mentality.
I agree with the other comments - rather odd statements. Then to say only two years?? Thanks, but no Thanks. Let's get a permanent AD. Also, I would NOT do the public comment part - that restricts the population of people. It should be the President and who he decides to assist him - but...
The word I received yesterday was, Foster is thankful for the offer from ISU, but is looking to put his name out there to see if someone else would offer more money. Also heard Lieb is 50/50. Time will tell if that was correct.
Schertz signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SLU for $2 million per year for 6 years, and has a $4 million buyout - that is what turned Louisville away. The sportswriters and radio hosts in St. Louis are opening encouraging Schertz to "bring the whole team" to SLU.
You are correct - I was on one of those buses. The badgers played in an old barn for a Fieldhouse back then. It was glorious - the Birds took to them - 77-62. Watkins and Hansell had excellent games.
The deal is not ironclad - more of like in principle from what I understand. The SLU folks are afraid the more Indiana State wins in the NIT the more likely it is for Louisville to make a better offer. Then it is back to the drawing board for SLU.
