A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Chi Fan, Good info, thanks for putting it together. I was surprised by the large differences in athletics budgets. That said, I’ve never observed any profligate or extravagant spending by Athletics; in fact, quite the opposite I think it is unrealistic to expect the AD to engage in a back and...

    President Search

If anyone wonders why we haven’t yet seen any old white guys as candidates, all one needs to do is read the posts on this thread. Tarhule probably stayed under wraps so as not to turn off other candidates. I think all three so far have interviewed well. There are both advantages and...

Like Thursday’s win over UIC, the ‘Birds got off to a slow start, falling behind 15-3, and trailed the Beacons for most of the game. But thanks to yet another strong performance by Deanna Wilson, 11 of 11 free throws by Maya Wong, and great performances by Bullman, Dowell and Smith, good...

    vs Drake 1/27/24

It was great to be at the game yesterday (Saturday), so many outstanding performances! AND, I’m getting to watch the Marquee re-broadcast today—I think we’ll win again!

    vs UNI 1/25/24

Certainly way better than Sunday’s 65 foul crew at UIC. Our women played a great game against a perennial contender. Bullman is always a warrior, but she was really strong down the stretch tonight. Free admission when MVC leader Drake comes in this weekend. Let’s really support these terrific...

For the first time, Chase looked like a man who belonged out there instead of a boy who wasn’t sure. Preview of things to come? If only Malachi could find his shot and Kasubke and Lewis could be consistent, we could win a few more. I know—-koolaid!

Banks has 3 fouls so, yes, Johnny K is getting some extended minutes.

Stats broadcast seems to have disappeared. A truncated version of stats is available on ESPN. I don’t know who is responsible for the changes (Learfield?), but I intend to let the AD know IMO it stinks.

Waite goes 4 for 5 from 3. This will we a weapon down the line.

Broadcast is amateurish. What happened to stats broadcast? Looks like 50 people in the stands. Shows our record as 3-9, 2-1 in conference. Not happy about our play or the broadcast. Maybe the weather’s got me.
  14. N

Nice win at home over Missouri State (wish men could do that)

Waite went cold v Bradley and has not yet gotten her shot back. I am confident she will return to form sooner rather than later.

    SIU

Yes, it was great to see everyone get some minutes and Alsma’s breakout performance. But SIU is not a good team. We need to show more consistency if we want to have success this season. And our near future recruitment needs to focus on post players.

    Post game

Word is Coach G was unhappy and expressed said feelings to the team. Did not lead a post game prayer.

    vs SIU (2-1) - 1/6/24 - 6 pm - Marquee

I got frustrated during the Richardson days. Poor results, poor overall effort, lack of coaching effectiveness, etc. It became more of an obligation than a pleasure to go to games. Please, please, don’t take me there again.

    @Drake - 1/2/24 - 8 pm - CBS Sports Network

Every Drake player knows his shot is going in. Every ISU player thinks his shot is going to miss. We are not very good. That is all.
