Okay thanks for the updateI may be wrong, but I'm reasonably certain that Tony isn't supposed to be contacting players for recruiting purposes. And FWIW, mom and dad McChesney recently began following Dan on Twitter . . .

With all due respect neither did a kid from Windermere, FL.Some kid from French Lick, Indiana probably had not faced high quality comoetition prior to being signed by Big10's Indiana University.

So we're all agreed that recruiting is a crapshoot and it's probably best not to judge how good a player is until he plays for your team?
We are but Jammin's punchbowlTotally agree with your sentiment - cripes sake, let the guy show up and at least give it a go before you crap on him. The top HS player from the state of Minnesota -- going to Gonzaga -- is 7', 190 lbs. Played at Minnehaha Academy, 350 students. You never know when the light bulb turns on.
Duh, thank you for that reminder. So five "bigs" in the rotation. We're going sleek and quick in the post!!And Abdou. I am surprised Kotov did not transfer
Finally watched that documentary about Bird and Magic (“Courtship of Rivals”).Some kid from French Lick, Indiana probably had not faced high quality comoetition prior to being signed by Big10's Indiana University.
Some people just cannot help themselves ...With all due respect neither did a kid from Windermere, FL.
I second that. Doug Collins was a scrawny kid from a small town in southern Illinois who became the top pick in both the NBA and ABA drafts; I have no expectation that Liam will be a Bird or a Collins, but I agree that assessments should not be made until seeing him play at the college level and that the caliber of competition in his past is not necessarily an accurate barometer of his talent. In the current environment, however, I share the fear that any recruit who shows a lot of promise once he gets PT in college in is a transfer risk.So we're all agreed that recruiting is a crapshoot and it's probably best not to judge how good a player is until he plays for your team?
or maybe not judge what the recruit may/not deliver based solely on the recruiter?I second that. Playing overseas, or sitting a year after transferring?usually that would be the case but with dan as coach we know how it ends.
