Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller has announced the addition of 6-10 forward Liam McChesney to a Financial Aid Agreement to play for Illinois

6'10 forward who spent the last two seasons at Utah State. Averaged 35 ppg his senior year while being the No.1 player in his class in Canada. "Signed a financial aid" letter may suggest he will not be on scholarship. 4 years of eligibility after RS his freshman year and having a season-ending leg injury last season.

Financial Aid Agreement is what is signed when kids commit after the signing period ends . . . so not sure why done here since signing period doesn't end until August.

Yeah... he’s gonna be on scholarship. My bad. Birds are now even at scholarships. The only question that seems to remain is if Reeves returns.

Totally agree with your sentiment - cripes sake, let the guy show up and at least give it a go before you crap on him. The top HS player from the state of Minnesota -- going to Gonzaga -- is 7', 190 lbs. Played at Minnehaha Academy, 350 students. You never know when the light bulb turns on.

Well Miles Leonard from the Metropolis of Robinson had an above average college career. If Liam can play a little...he should see playing time this year. Gotta believe there still recruiting a shooter in case Reeves or someone else does not come back this summer.

Some kid from French Lick, Indiana probably had not faced high quality comoetition prior to being signed by Big10's Indiana University.

I'll be interested to see if the addition of Liam and 6'-11" Ryan Schmitt changes our look on the floor.

Tony Wills has liked 2 of his instagram posts from past years. Hard to say when that happened, but maybe Tony was the one that contacted him.

I may be wrong, but I'm reasonably certain that Tony isn't supposed to be contacting players for recruiting purposes. And FWIW, mom and dad McChesney recently began following Dan on Twitter . . .
