I think some of it may be coach’s agents floating their names out there, looks good on them if schools are considering them for hire. Could give them ammo to get an extension or more money at current school, or put on other schools radars if not already

Seems like the most reasonable approach. That's what I want. 1 free transfer, then after that you have to sit. Only caveat I'd add is if your coach leaves or is fired you should get to transfer for free as well

With no metrics or ratings to back this up, I would guess the NIT gets more eyeballs when mid-majors are playing and even more when they matchup against a power 5. NIT means more to us than a 10th place B1G team fan base. You would think they would want the best mid-majors to be in the field...
