Seems like that could be a bit of a trend now, since players on student visas are left out on NIL money. Illinois lost a freshman this year to an overseas contract. Probably hard to see the rest of your teammates making money, knowing you could be as well.
Quadrant records are based on Net rankings which has those teams ranked 32 and 24. Kenpom has both in top 25. Any of the models that try to account for schedules seem to agree those examples are in right now. They will continue to mature, so we will see.

Their conference was ranked 2nd based on non conference play. Parity in league is hurting individual rankings, but I would still expect 8-10 to make it depending on how things play out. They have I think 12 teams top 64 in kenpom right now.
His advanced stats are not hurt by injury as much as they were hurt by the mental aspect of his play. They would look much better if he wasn't forcing it while struggling. For now you have assume he can be coached, but to think he would have gone from that bad of a season to top PG the next is...
He had an extremely bad freshman year.
-10.5 BPM
- .076 WS (yes, negative win share)
He had high usage though, so there are bound to be some good moments. Your starting PG can not be a high usage low efficiency player, or it drags everybody else down.
Dentmon committed as a senior I believe, and he was a non/partial qualifier. I think it would take another event, than just a bigger offer, for him to flip.
Did Loyola back off? Academically I would be very leary of going to Grand Canyon. Seems like he had other options with equal basketball programs and much better academics.
