    Valley players entering the portal

Seems like that could be a bit of a trend now, since players on student visas are left out on NIL money. Illinois lost a freshman this year to an overseas contract. Probably hard to see the rest of your teammates making money, knowing you could be as well.

    Jim Benson retiring

I could see that, but an unprompted statement like that often makes me think the opposite. Hopefully not the case.

    Jim Benson retiring

"Happy to report this is totally my call." Is a weird line to include in a retirement announcement.

    Only one...

Quadrant records are based on Net rankings which has those teams ranked 32 and 24. Kenpom has both in top 25. Any of the models that try to account for schedules seem to agree those examples are in right now. They will continue to mature, so we will see. This argument seems to me to be the...

    Only one...

Their conference was ranked 2nd based on non conference play. Parity in league is hurting individual rankings, but I would still expect 8-10 to make it depending on how things play out. They have I think 12 teams top 64 in kenpom right now.

    Axiom Helmet

For what it is worth, NFL/NFLPA rated it behind some of the speedflex models, and Vicis is still at the top. Vicis has a similar price issue though.

    NBA mock draft

We have to wait a while on Maddox to be a McDonald's all American like Baldwin though.

Committed DJ Horne, 6-1 PG, Cary, NC

His advanced stats are not hurt by injury as much as they were hurt by the mental aspect of his play. They would look much better if he wasn't forcing it while struggling. For now you have assume he can be coached, but to think he would have gone from that bad of a season to top PG the next is...

Committed DJ Horne, 6-1 PG, Cary, NC

He had an extremely bad freshman year. -10.5 BPM - .076 WS (yes, negative win share) He had high usage though, so there are bound to be some good moments. Your starting PG can not be a high usage low efficiency player, or it drags everybody else down.

Committed Elsewhere Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL (JUCO)

Dentmon committed as a senior I believe, and he was a non/partial qualifier. I think it would take another event, than just a bigger offer, for him to flip.

2018-Tim Finke, 6'6/195, SG, Champaign, IL

Did Loyola back off? Academically I would be very leary of going to Grand Canyon. Seems like he had other options with equal basketball programs and much better academics.

2018-Tim Finke, 6'6/195, SG, Champaign, IL

Illinois and a lot of other teams have backed off recruiting him. I doubt he goes to Illinois.
