Would guess that SIU had the game already scheduled before the Valley schedule was set.

I think there are 3 goods games this week

MSU at Drake
Trees at Bradley
Racers at Birds

I am also curious how the UNI Evansville game goes. I think Missouri St might be better than most anticipated and it was probably a tougher matchup for the Aces. Evansville came back and their Freshman, Baily, looks like an impact player already. I cannot tell what is happening with UNI. I didn't watch their game against Belmont but I was shocked at rhe score.

MSU bears have been playing really good defense and I think Benson has really stepped up for them on bith ends. I think they will die by the 3 at some point in the tournament or start taking ill-advised shots; however, in one game matchip they could beat anyone in the conference. I have seen a few Drake games. They have looked great at times offensively but not for the entire game. I think they were better defensively the past 2 seasons.

The trees vs Bradley is interesting because to me they are contrasting teams. Bradley is still long and big across their front line but I am not sold on their guard play. The trees have Avila and Kent but not sure how much afterwards on their front line. They need to stay out of foul trouble and the trees can't get expoited when they are out. I am sure Wardle will try and take away the 3 (trees are shooting over 40% as a team) but ISU blue also has guards that can penetrate.

We played the Racers decent both games last year. I think if we can limit turnovers and contain Wood's penetration we have a decent chance. I watched the Murray - Bradley game and everytime the Braves made a run the Racers answered. Perry is the wild card for them in my mind. He is a streaky 3 point shooter and can score but he is not always efficient. They have a transfer from Eastern Illinois that has been a beast on the boards. I think we can contain him though because I believe Foster is a good match up with him.

It should be a good weekend for MVC basketball.

I did watch the UNI game. Three things stood out: 1) Belmont’s D was impressive. They pressured the ball in the halfcourt really well. 2) Born isn’t playing or shooting well, so he’s not putting pressure on defenses. 3) Dia, Belmont’s xfer from Vandy, is a beast who’s a matchup nightmare.

UNI just isn’t that good when Born isn’t a threat. He makes so much of their offense open up when he’s a threat to score at will. When you can sag off of him, it gums up their flow.

Thanks and that makes sense on UNI end. Tyson, Dia, and Gillespie could be a 3 headed nightmare in MVC.

I actually think defensively we might matchup decent with them. Banks might be a good defensive matchup for Gillespie, Lewis on Tyson, and hopefully Foster on Dia. We are prone to turnovers so pressure defense could be an issue if they are now asserting ball pressure.

ISUb handling Bradley though the first half.
ISUb with 10 3s made in the 1st half. They look really good. They all can handle the ball, they pass well and share the ball and can shoot it.
The game sure gets easier when you make 10 3s in one half.
48-30 at half.

MSU had 3 players out against Evansville, may still be out against Drake. Plus they have 2 more players that will be there the 2nd semester. They could be really good

ISUb finishes off Bradley. They are the best team in the Valley that I have seen play this year.
