Who knows. He’s only a sophomore. Kid has an insanely bright future and we got in early. Things go well with Johnny and I’d imagine we will be right there when it’s closer to decision time.
FWIW, his brother was named Conference Defensive POY for their conference . . . as a sophomore.

Shhhh....don't let the word get out on Zach. There are three dudes(including Johnny) on De Pere right now that I wouldn't mind continuing to be Redbirds in their college careers.

Despite sitting about the last five minutes of the half with foul trouble, Kinziger has 12 points as DePere leads Marquette 30-16 at halftime of the sectional championship game. He hit a pair of threes and is 4/4 from the line. I’m really impressed with his ability to go grab a rebound, too.

JK finished with a game-high 18 to lead the Redbirds to a 57-29 win. DePere will play in the Class 1 state semifinals next Friday.

According to the AP rankings, DePere is the top ranked team in the state. Arrowhead is number 3 and the other two schools are unranked.

I watched quite a bit of both sectional games, and I was really impressed with JK's ability to go up and get a rebound. Kid can really jump.

More on Mr. Basketball:

Playing the point-guard position for the top-ranked WIAA Division 1 team in Wisconsin, Kinziger is having a banner season, leading De Pere to a 28-0 record heading into the state-tournament semifinals. The multi-skilled and always active Kinziger is averaging 18.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 5.6 apg and 2.1 spg. He has scored more than 2,000 career points and is a four-time first-team all-league selection in the Fox River Classic Conference.

Any clue the last Mr Basketball of any state that we got out of high school?
Mike VandeGuarde and Skip Schaefbauer were All Minneapolis Metro Player of the Year, but I can’t think of any Mr Basketball. Eric Bush (I think) was Indiana Co Mr Basketball, but he never put on a Redbird uniform. Was highly anticipating seeing he play for the Birds.

You forgot one of our most distinguished Minnesota players, his bio says he was a "finalist" for Mr. Basketball - Alex Rubin.
