We had an unbelievable start to the second half against Belmont in the first game. We went 10 for 12 including 7 for 7 from 3. I don't think that's repeatable.

Belmont poses a problem defensively for us. They are incredibly efficient team and shoot the 3 at almost 40%. Shepard is a multi faceted player.

They are not a great defensive team or rebounding team. We have been a good rebounding team and hopefully we can get control the boards against them.

Last time we won a shooting match but I think our defense needs to rise to the occasion this game or we may struggle.
Well so much for the rebounding advantage. Birds were not up to the task today

I didn't expect us to win this game, felt it was a bit of a perfect storm against us with Belmont having lost 2 in a row, lost to us earlier in the year (knowing they'd be hungry for a big turnaround game and to take their frustration out on us at home) and the fact that we've been riding a good wave of momentum the last few weeks that I didn't feel we could sustain without a few setbacks here and there.

Even though Belmont has been taking it to us, I really like our fighting spirit and love that Pedon has been allowing the bench guys to get some playing time. Sometimes your main guys just don't have it in a game and I appreciate Pedon turning to the bench and letting the guys play free and untethered.

There is a lot that I like about the team and I believe we're capable of making a run in St Louis. I also really like our team chemistry and am optimistic about the future of our program.

Loving the energy the scout team is bringing. It’s weird and they are going to win, but they fought back to make this look somewhat respectable. It’s possible we start seeing less of Liam. I really like Joe and Ryan on the court together.

The pick and roll from DB to Ryan was a thing of beauty and I’d love to see more of it.

This team's inability to guard without fouling is our biggest downfall. There's no secret anymore in the lack of depth. 19 fouls tonight puts us in a terrible position. The frontcourt can't no show in such a meaningful way so consistently. Sissoko -10 in 3 minutes. Knight -26 and has 7 assists in the last 10 games. Kotov -14 in 6 minutes. It is a testament to the character of the program being built that it means so much to the bench to keep this from being too big of a blowout and that will be a good takeaway. Giving up the second most points of the season to a Belmont team that isn't special by their barometer isn't something that makes me think we can go on a run in St. Louis, but everyone keeps saying we can so I guess I'll wait and see.

I quit after the first few minutes of the second half. Sad performance. Hate to see it. Our inside guys looked like a bunch of little girls out there. We have no muscle, and very little quick. Burford has some quicks, about the only one. Kotov is about our only "big", but he plays like a wimp. Sissoko gives it a go, but in the end he's not all that bulky. I like our team, just find lots of stuff about them to not like week to week. Hate to single anyone out. Got a ways to go, need reinforcements, preferably some muscle-bound tough guys.

One down (Sandage), and the guys who have been logging heavy minutes recently did not have their "A" game today. Probably good to get them extended rest in a game that, for all intents and purposes, was decided twelve minutes in. They treaded water, more or less, the next twelve minutes (four into the second half). About the only thing we did not see was all three non-scholarship players on the court at the same time. Rebounding killed us, and that was the one area we were statistically better going in.

Long way from being good. I am blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other, but I can’t see when this program ever returns as once you are on the bottom, with transfers etc, you can not dig out.

Some moments of good effort over the last couple weeks, but a clear bottom 3 team in MVC.

Antonio Reeves had a big game the other night…

Why are programs like Belmont and Murray State competitive year in and year out even with coaching changes? What happened to us?
