It IS early and Pedon may be the next Stallings or Donewald but man this is disappointing. You bring 5 new guys and no bigs where our weakness clearly was. Right now this team is worse than last year. The had more offensive rebounds than we had defensive? Completely unacceptable, I’m sure we were tired but they had a less than 16 hour turnaround
Will never be the next Donewald

This is how I am staying motivated, our best freshman signing since Osiris. Is it time for the State Farm Holiday Classic when I can watch Ty play here in town yet.....
DiezBird...i appreciate you, man, but I'm not certain Ty is that kind of impact player. I sure hope he is, though.

Dan's best signing class was after his first year

Freshman
Paris
Tony
McIntosh
Hawkins
Lynch

JUCO
Knight
Hunter
Lofton
Middlebrooks
Samuel

Holdover
Jones
Ziesloft
Keane

Let's hope the current staff is as good of recruiters as Ford and Ward. I think this could be one of their strengths

IF OUR OFFENSE IS GOING TO BE THIS BAD, WE COULD STILL BE COMPETITIVE IF WE PLAYED DEFENSE LIKE DONNEWALD'S TEAMS (IE. BOBBY KNIGHT).
It doesn't take a great level of skill to pass the ball and move without it. Also, Rebounding isn't everyone's expertise- but effort isn't a major skill set.

I'd just say the biggest difference is that Prohm has years of experience as a D1 HC. Moving over a seat changes the way you see the game. My expectations for wins this season were and remain very low. I want to see a team compete, care, and give effort. I'd say to this point, they've done that more times than not (like 55%). The talent just really doesn't seem to be there.

You know what they say, "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Work hard for 40 minutes and they'll be able to be in a lot of games. They haven't put 40 minutes together yet. There will be games where the Birds play their tails off and other team is just has more talent. LSU is the perfect example. Birds could've played hard all 40 minutes and still lost by 10. That's the nature of the beast.

Next year's roster will look different. Hopefully, the portal will be kind to supplement some pieces. I'd be interested in getting more guys that were lower role players at the P6 level versus starters from what many would say are "lower D1s."

If I had to guess, they'll be filling at least 4 scholarships when spring rolls around. I hope its not too much more because that's when you get back to the "these guys haven't played together" thing we hear all about.

That said, it feels like this team will be playing better in January than they are now. Will that translate to wins? Time will tell.
But they are “working hard” for 40 minutes. It’s not like anyone is dogging it out there. If they are, I’m not seeing it.

I am typically a pessimist, but I 'spose we could hope for a worst-to-first turnaround like Bender's second and third year.

One of the big issues I’m seeing is a lot of individuals get down after mistakes and get in their own heads. When they stop thinking and play fast they go on these 8-0 runs. When they slow down they overthink. Ball gets sticky, movement stops.

I saw none of these three games. I only read this forum, and the box scores.

For those (like myself) who say we just want to be better at end of year than we are now, that can’t really be that hard, can it???

You didn't watch the last three games. Worst $30 I ever spent and that includes the new crane casino game out in Vegas
