When Muller was scheduled, one of the biggest topics on this board was how would he schedule. We haven't really talked about it much in regards to Pedon.

Interesting in-season H&H just a few days a part from each other. NW State's HC is former Mo State assistant who took a handful of players with him.

I like the true road game early in the schedule. We will quickly see what we have.

Looks like they have three former Mo State bears as well as gage prim’s brother, Dayne. I remember jamonta black being a good player for Mo state last season.

Good thing at least andrews has some meat on his body to bang Prim

Their new HC was Dana's top assistant and lead recruiter last year.

I think I'm fine with playing a same season H/H, I'd just prefer it to be 3-4 weeks apart. I don't really feel like you can learn much having played the same opponent in such a short amount of time.

Overall for Pedon's scheduling, I'm going to give him a pass this year. His focus has been on getting a roster together and his guys on campus. When Muller came in, other than trying to find a replacement for Moore, the roster was pretty much set and he could look as scheduling has one of his top priorities, which at the time, was the biggest gripe among fans.

One of the best parts of nonconference is playing different teams. Playing NW St twice is ho hum.

Playing the games so close to each other is even worse. From an entertainment presepective, I didn't like watching back to back MVC games during COVID. It's not quite the same, but it would be better spread out if we have to play this format.

I believe that the only game Pedon has scheduled that’s been released is the H/H with NW State. The others have been carry overs from Muller.

It’ll be interesting what approach he takes in year 1 into year 2 when he’ll have more flexibility.

I mean plenty of teams delay or don't take the return game when a new coach comes in. I'm sure Chicago St would be ok to delay that game a year if we really wanted.....

So with the MVC Volleyball schedule being out, I wonder if we can infer some thing about basketball? Maybe not, as they are only playing 18 games despite having 12 teams.

The traveling pairs are:
- UE/Indy St
- Valpo/UIC
- BU/ISU
- Drake/UNI
- Belmont/Murray
- MSU/SIU

So, ISU is only going to Belmont and Murray. They are not coming here. And then ISU gets MSU/SIU here but does not have to go on the road but plays the other three pairs H/A each plus the two single games vs your traveling pair (Bradley in our case).

I wonder why volleyball (and I assume women's basketball) are only doing 18 MVC games and not 20 like we have been told men's basketball is doing?

Maybe it is their schedule of mostly playing 2 games in 3 days on weekends to save money on travel costs.

It sounds like he has a minimum of five games to play with this season, and he has chosen two for a home/home five days apart with Northwestern State?

When FHCDM announced a home/home with Chicago State, some folks were upset saying it was beneath us to have to go to the Jones Convocation Center.

HCRP has four months to put together five games. I do not think his hands are all that tied. Certainly he will have more say the following season when the only series still going is with the Cougars. But he is in no better/worse shape than most non-P5s at this point of the year.
