Agree it would, altho Etheridge is one of, if not the most, experienced coaches we have. Gotta believe he's one of the highest. Niekamp experienced too on the D side.

I was surprised to see him entering the portal. When he went down, Spack initially said it would probably be it for his college career I thought. Glad to see he is looking to make a return and go out on his own terms. Wish it was with the Redbirds, but will be interested to see where he goes. Assuming he is in good physical condition, I would think he would be hoping to move up to a G5 school after transferring down from Iowa.

At least we weren't totally counting on him - not like losing a "returning starter". Would sure be nice to have him back tho.

Right now the transfer portal is growing with players coming in much faster than they are committing and going out. The longer that continues the better it is for schools like Illinois State. If you're a WR you can see that you are one of over 100 in the portal. You may have gone in looking for a FBS offer but if the offers aren't pouring in you might want to think about what level is actually going to give you a chance to play. You also want to look for schools that lost players at your position. This goes for all positions.

I was trying to get the scoop on that as well. I believe he started out at NIU according to an article I read and then went to Iowa Western. According to 247, he initially committed to UNI. Very confusing. Either way, I believe he should have 2 years of eligibility left

Has recently been on visit to Memphis and Liberty. Probably a long shot on this one
