Charlie's final school appears to be Miami....Charlie Moore is in the portal again. Wonder if we have any interest in him.
What a joke. I like Charlie (I spent a year at Morgan Park HS, so he's "one of my own"), but for cripes sake, 4 different schools, from coast to coast. What the hell is that all about? Maybe nothing needs to be, or can be, done, but I hope this all shakes out soon.Charlie's final school appears to be Miami....
I thought earlier this year he would be a decent fit for ISU. Not going to see much PT at U of I, I wouldn't think, unless he makes a big jump. He seems athletic enough.Jermaine Hamlin C 6'10 235 Lincoln HS/ Illinois is now in the portal. I would assume we would be interested.
Followed by BelcherJermaine Hamlin C 6'10 235 Lincoln HS/ Illinois is now in the portal. I would assume we would be interested.
So . . . Belcher has been following Hamlin since Hamlin was in HS. It's not a new follow. That's one of those gray areas where I'm not sure about including a kid. Can't really tell if Belcher has or will be contacting the kid. Can we assume he would? If we do, then that means we have several kids who would need to be added to the list of contacts. Just don't know.Followed by Belcher
Clarification: has been followed by Belcher for at least a month
I think it could be easier for all to have a "2021 Recruits Interest" thread and then create a thread for an individual player when they get offered as opposed to creating a thread for each kid Belch follows. It'd help keep things more succinct and cleaner. He follows over 1100 people on Twitter, at least 1/3 of them are hoopers. Just a thought to make things a little easier for those tracking. I appreciate the work you do.So . . . Belcher has been following Hamlin since Hamlin was in HS. It's not a new follow. That's one of those gray areas where I'm not sure about including a kid. What do you all think?
Lets assume we'd still be interested. Might as well live dangerouslySo . . . Belcher has been following Hamlin since Hamlin was in HS. It's not a new follow. My guess is that Belcher never stopped following him because he thought this day might come. He was right. So . . . Belcher has been following Hamlin since Hamlin was in HS.
It's not easier to track when you begin adding comments about each kid. Look at the number of kids listed. Add 3-4 comments for each (average-ish). Plus comments get mixed between recruits. The current process keeps all discussions about a player contained within his thread, and searching is actually easier when you can limit the search to thread titles. Plus your suggestion still doesn't help with the transfers who our coaches have followed for years, since we don't know if there's still any interest.I think it could be easier for all to have a "2021 Recruits Interest" thread and then create a thread for an individual player when they get offered as opposed to creating a thread for each kid Belch follows. I would agree with you if he wasn't still following guys he followed while at InSU, went to other schools, and have since graduated. My guess is that Belcher never stopped following him because he thought this day might come. He was right.
I also considered your Charlie Moore post where you speculated about interest.
Belcher is probably like a lot of people. He follows people out of personal interest, curiosity, and out of professional interest. Since Hamlin is a college basketball that plays a position of need I am speculating that his interest is professional.I would agree with you if he wasn't still following guys he followed while at InSU, went to other schools, and have since graduated.

The whole transfer portal blow up has thrown a complete wrench into the works. The number of transfer kids we've expressed interest in so much larger than traditional recruits, and they're compressed into a shorter timeframe.
All that said, if you want to create a transfer-only thread list of kids, go for it. And I'll quit setting up a thread for each transfer we're interested in. I will also no longer follow the transfer list, and focus only on juco/HS kids. Meaning I won't contribute to or monitor the transfer list. Someone else will need to do that. It will save a lot of time for me, but someone else has to put in that time. You'll just have to DM me when we offer a transfer so I can set up a thread for them.
Let me know what you want to do . . .
Yep . . . 'course there's a grad transfer thread, too . . .I gotcha.
Re: the transfer only thread...isn't that what this is?
Charlie Moore is in the portal again. Wonder if we have any interest in him.
I know it's an extra opportunity to take a shot at the program whenever you can, but the dude literally committed to Miami days ago.He would be a great get but we have to assume he wants to go somewhere and win, which pretty much removes us from the conversation.
