Re: FCS coaching changes ... couple big ones

What do you think about ISU's athletic situation bb fan if you cast doubt on ECU? ECU has a lower subsidy/allocation percentage on a $48.3 annual athletic budget (40.86%) than ISU does on a $27.8 (68.56%) annual athletic budget. In total dollars allocated (meaning amount provided by student fees an...

Re: MVC Most Disappointing Team?

I think every conference has down years. Was last year a down year, sending a team to the Final 4. When Valley teams make the tournament, they win games. Loyola, Wichita State, Creighton, UNI, etc. [/b] question...why reference teams in another conference when talking about the MVC? It is a bit lik...

Re: MVFC with two in Semi's

SDSU has been 100% focused on their game with NDSU. NDSU has not been 100% focused on their game with SDSU. That could be a difference-maker. How much of a difference? We'll find out tonight. If anyone can take advantage of this, it's SDSU. Not an NDSU hater but it would be nice to see someone else...

Re: Indoor Facility News

No doubt facilities matter in a big big way for all sports and teams that have subpar facilities are handicapped. The ISU football team needs an indoor facility and ISU basketball team also needs its own top notch facility. The challenge for mid majors that have both basketball and football teams is...

Well I'm glad when we buy games we are so worried about Cleveland State's and Maryville's ability to get a good night's sleep the night. :confusion-waiting: I'm sure if Kentucky wants us to come to Rupp or Louisville wants us to come again to the Yum! Center, that TV and travel are going to be a pa...

Re: FCS coaching changes ... couple big ones

Yeah, that's the ticket to get into the AAC. FOOTBALL . Heck, look how it helped Wichita..... Oh, wait. They got there to a great extent because they DON'T have football. Hmmmm..... And to think we could be like ECU right now and lose a ton of money. Like most every non P5 FBS football team. And pa...

Transferring from Kentucky. For the love of all things holy, I hope we pull out all stops to make a compelling case for him to come here. He's going to a p5/big East. Had 10ppg as a freshman at kentucky. He's not going to a mid-major. He will be able to going anywhere except for maybe the top 5 pro...

Re: FCS coaching changes ... couple big ones

The question now is, who replaces Kleiman? As this article speculates it will almost certainly be someone with direct links to the program. Probably same old business as usual but everything ends at some point. Not really even a ripple in the force with Kleiman was promoted. What happens this time?...

WSU having the Koch's has be involved in this discussion, that is a major source of their funding. :text-+1: Koch helps fund WSU athletics. The students at ISU fund the athletics. Last year each athletic department brought in 28mm. The total revenue is the same and how they spend it is different. B...

Never miss a home game. I will be at Redbird Arena for the basketball doubleheader. :text-+1: If only there were some technology available to say "record" the Bears game and watch it when I got home. Guess I'll never know what happened  gotta pick one game as a focus and watch the other on the...

Re: Shox thumped by Oklahoma

I would vote to dump ISU football in a heart beat to have their bball program profile and conference affiliation I would too, if that were possible. Illinois State is not Wichita State, their market size and donor base are too dissimilar to keep making the phony comparisons between the two institut...

Re: Shox thumped by Oklahoma

Considering how much WSU pays Marshall and what they spend on MBB, would you say they have higher expectations than ISU or really any MVC program? If you're one of the top paid coaches in MBB, regardless of conference, the expectations are likely to finish in th top 60-70 of teams. It may not happe...

Re: Shox thumped by Oklahoma

Question...who gets more value out of their athletic program ISU or Wichita State? They both have the same budget of $27,800,000. ISU students/university subside the program in the amount of $19MM and Wichita States comparable subsidy is $7,800,000. I would vote to dump ISU football in a heart beat...

Re: Shox thumped by Oklahoma

A down year for the shox is the nit. Im being serious. That must be nice. Marshall is a douche but he's a good coach and the game isn't passing him by. A lot of people left all at once. Trasfers, graduates, foregoing eligibility. And, they'll still make the nit with a bare cupboard. Considering how...

I'll give it to him for having heart and passion but this is d1 college basketball. That's simply not good enough. Let's not settle for crap. That kind of thinking is exactly why they are where they are. He's anot end of bench rider at this level along with chastain. Hein shouldn't even be on the t...

I think this very well may be the year that SDSU gets past the Bison.
The Bison seem to be playing well/steamrolling everyone. I would be surprised if SDSU won this game.

Here's a short update on EIU's search. Minnesota RB coach Kenni Burns turned them down to stay at Minny. He's from Springfield and was on NDSU staff under Craig Bohl for a while. http://footballscoop.com/news/sources-kenni-burns-strong-candidate-eastern-illinois/ thefootballscoop.com is a good sour...

Our offense should be a triangle of Fayne, Yarb and JJ
No one else should be allowed to shoot.
Just work it in and out until you get a clean look.
How do you work a triangle offense vs zones?

Idk about you guys but seeing all those players in street clothes on the bench makes me so mad I have beat that drum before about not having enough available players. Makes sense if you are in totally rebuild mode but not when you think you have an NCAA tournament worthy team. I would rather have g...
